About Us

Welcome to the Hawthorn website which we hope you will find interesting and informative. If you haven’t dined with us before, we hope you will soon.

We opened our doors in May 2000 at the start of T.T. practice week, (straight in at the deep end!) and have now served in excess of 460,000 main meals up to May 2009.

Originally a Public House since the late 1800’s/ early 1900’s the Hawthorn is now seen as more a restaurant.

All our meals are prepared by our brigade of chef’s and use only the freshest and finest quality produce and ingredients we can source. All our meals are prepared and cooked to order, so inevitably at busy times you may have to wait a bit longer than normal.  If you are limited for time please let us know, or you may wish to pre-order so we can serve you shortly after your arrival.

Special diets and allergies can also be catered for. Please let us know before you order.

Special occasions, small weddings (up to 36 guests) catered for.

We can also cater for any size party up to 55 persons at one sitting.  Choose from our normal menu or we can devise a menu to suit the occasion and/ or your budget.

We understand that over 65’s and children often have smaller appetites than others so we have a menu to suit, smaller prices, smaller portions.

During the week, Monday to Saturday 12 noon to 5pm we have a bar menu in addition to our all day menu.  Daily specials are available and on Sunday’s, we serve traditional roast dinners to supplement our all day menu.

Table reservations are recommended, especially at busy times such as; Friday & Saturday nights,  Sunday lunches, Bank Holidays, Mothering Sunday etc.

However, if you arrive without a reservation we can usually accommodate you if you are prepared to wait a short while.

Stuck for gift ideas? …..Why not give your friends or family a Hawthorn gift voucher to treat themselves on their birthday or anniversary, or even just as a thank you.

We know many restaurants add a 10% service charge on to your bill if you are a group of 8 or more people, which we think is wrong,  We don’t add a service charge to your bill, whatever the size of your party,  but allow you to decide if the service has warranted it.

All gratuities are shared between all staff, except management.
